

Carl Don Wills, 85 left this world with dignity and grace on September 28, 2011. He was born July 22, 1926 to Loyd and Pearl Wills, in Oilton, OK. He was preceded in death by his brothers Ray and Lesley, and survived by sisters Ruth, Ann, Sue, and Helen. He leaves behind his beloved wife Jewell; two daughters: Donna and her husband Weyman, Karen and her husband Patrick; two sons: Don and his wife Jan, James and his wife Corinne; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Carl shared a long and fruitful life with many. He will be deeply missed and remembered for his many years of service to his family, church, and community.
He attended high school in St. Louis, OK, and was involved in sports and drove the school bus. Later, he attended Harding College in Searcy, AR. This is where he met his wife, Jewell. They just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on September 15, 2011.
During his lifetime, Carl served as Assistant Chaplain of Big Mack Prison in McAlister, OK, Assistant Chaplain in Lexington ant the Griffin Memorial Hospital, President of Lyons Club for 3 terms, served on the School Board in Arnette and Hollis for 3 years, obtained his pilot’s license in 1949, served as Vice Mayor in Konawa, OK for four years and Mayor for three years. He worked at the following youth camps: LuJo in Lawton, OK (nine years as director, Bible teacher, and evening speaker), Lariet Creek in Gary, OK (two years as teacher and counselor), Silver Maple in Kingman, KS (three years as Counselor, Bible teacher, and evening speaker), and a juvenile personal trainer for the University of Oklahoma Child Care Agencies for four years. He was Superintendent at Westview Boy’s Home for 12 years. He served on the Board of Directors at Central OK Family Medical Center in Konawa, OK.
The highlight of Carl’s career was serving as a Church of Christ minister in various congregations in Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, and Washington state.
To sum up Carl would be to say, “A man is rich according to what he is, not according to what he has.”
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Konawa Church of Christ or Sasakawa Church of Christ.
Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home of Shawnee, Friday, September 30, from 1:00 PM to 8:00PM. Services be 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the Shawnee Central Church of Christ, with burial to follow at Dale Cemetery of Dale, under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
