Emil was born to Berger Gust and Ellen Victoria (Neilson) Sandstrom on August 13, 1933 in Greensville, Wisconsin. He married Dorothy Piper on July 5, 1952 in Eureka, IL. They divorced and he moved to Whittier, CA where he loved to take his dune buggy out to the desert and ride and camp. He also had a great love of horses. He was an iron worker and retired from Caterpillar Company and moved to Earlsboro, OK and remarried Dorothy on July 5, 1994 where they made their home before moving into the Meeker Nursing Home. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law; Victoria & Lowery Holland of Sparks and Shirley Sandstrom of Shawnee, step-sons Allen and James Simpson of Bloomington, IL.; sisters Mae Waddell of Eureka, IL, Alice Heineman of Chapel Hill, NC and brother Gregory Sandstrom of Shell Lake, WI. Together they had 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, sons Michael Gust Sandstrom, Roger Dean Sandstrom, step-son Johnny Ray Simpson, grandson Roger Dale Moutaw and great grandson Zackery Sandstrom and sister Dorothy Armstrong of Washington, IL.
