She gave generously to everyone and included everyone she knew. She adopted all of her nieces and nephews and their children as though they were her own children. She was one of the fun Aunts! She taught us how to love, laugh, pray and believe that we have an “angel on our shoulders”. She taught a toddler in the family how to drink Coca Cola from a straw at a very young age. She treated her friends and animals with the same love she had for her family.
She was skilled in arts and crafts-she could knit, sew and crochet. She enjoyed Mickey Mouse watches, butterflies, angels, and the color purple in her art.
She was an excellent chef in Lebanese cuisine and with desserts like her chocolate brownies.
Gay Ott was a businesswoman and homemaker. She worked in restaurants in Shawnee, OK and while living in Reno, NV, she was a lunch room lady and chef at Tony’s Delicatessen. In her later years she assisted in the personal care of her parents. As an adult she assisted her father in the Public Market Auction in his appraisals, auction and real estate work. She started her career as a young child when she helped her parents sell bananas at their grocery store.
She enjoyed traveling in the United States and made an impression during a nationwide horseshoe pitching competition with family to scenic locations such as the Grand Canyon, Indianapolis, IN, Lake Tahoe, CA and Las Vegas, NV. She also enjoyed special trips to Texas, Hawaii, and Germany.
She took a delight in Christmas holidays, giving gifts to her extended family, blessing us with her amazing laugh, putting bicycles together and decorating beautiful trees. She enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley recordings while we all danced the twist.
