June Hignite

Long time Shawnee resident, June Hignite, 76, passed away Friday, April 17, 2015. She was born September 30, 1938 in Sulphur, OK. to Henry and Lillian Marie Pittman. June married the love of her life, Joe Hignite on August 17, 1964. Together they raised 5 children. June enjoyed painting and arts and crafts. June was a loving wife and mother. She had a fantastic knack for fashion and interior design. Her most endearing quality was being a caregiver to all that knew her.

June was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Tonita Jones, Beverly Woodall & Gary Pittman.

Those left to cherish their memories are her husband of 50 years, Joe Hignite; children, Vickie Birdwell and spouse Stephanie, Tracy Hignite and wife Debbie, Neana Dickenson, Robin Klaser and husband John, Gordon Hignite and wife Aleta; grandchildren, Jeremy, Jason, Kaylee, Eric, Jennifer, Phillip, Zac, and Seth; 2 great grandchildren; siblings, Henry “HA” Pittman and wife Darla, Donald Pittman, Joe Pittman and wife Pam; numerous other family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 8am-5pm at Resthaven Funeral Home.

Services will be 10am, Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Resthaven Funeral Home with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
