

Laura K. “Olemama” Walker, of Shawnee passed away Friday, November 9, 2012 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born July 31, 1914 to George Sr. and Mary (Murdock) Kishketon in McLoud. She was the eldest of five children. She was born and raised in McLoud, attending McLoud schools. Laura “A tha me tha qua” (Indian Name) was the eldest member of the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma. She was baptized at the McLoud Baptist Church at the age of 14. She was preceded in death by husband, Harry B. Walker Sr., daughter Helen Parnacher, sisters Lucille Kishketon, and Florence Chavin; brothers Dwight and George Kishketon Jr.; one granddaughter Bobbie Jean Murdock; two great grand children and two great great grandchildren. Laura is survived by Son and daughter-in-law Harry Jr. and Leonardine Walker, daughter Mary Rolette and son-in-law Floyd Parnacher, two Sisters Lena Kingbaugh and Buena Haymond, nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and sixteen great-great grand children. Laura is also survived by her adopted daughter Georgia Anna Harris Noble, and adopted Chinese granddaughter Linda Bliss. Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 12, 2012 at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Klump officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
