
Margaret June Cobb entered her eternal rest on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the age of 88. June was born to John Thomas Noland and Maudie Lee (Suttle) Noland on February 15, 1926, in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. June was raised in Wynnewood and received her education there. Many may not know this about June but she was a Rosie the Riveter during World War II. She was a part of a group of extraordinary women who take pride in the way they were able to assist their country during a troublesome time. Margaret had physically taken part in the constructing and riveting of the noses for the C-47 Airplanes at Douglas Aircraft (Tinker Air Force Base). Shortly after the war June met the gentleman that she would choose to spend the rest of eternity with, Dale Cobb. June and Dale married on September 10, 1945 and started a beautiful family together. She later attended East Central University and earned three bachelor’s degrees, Business Administration, Home Economics, and Business Education. June went on to study at the University of Oklahoma in pursuit of a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. She had worked on Tinker Air Force base from June 1967 - April 1979 and had been promoted from a GS-5 to a GS-11 in a 7 year span. She had also worked part time at ANB From 1979-1982 as a teller. June Cobb was a highly intelligent woman with true determination and drive. She had achieved many great things and overcome many adversities during her lifetime. June was not only a strong woman, but a strongly loved woman and will be missed and her memory forever cherished. June is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Dale Cobb; June is survived by her Daughter, Lori Parker; 2 Sons: Gary Cobb, and Jack Cobb; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and her brother Dale Noland. Services are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home of Shawnee, Oklahoma
