Patsy Jacobs

She was born on November 20, 1929, in Bethel Acres, Oklahoma to Justice Wesley and Grace Brown Curtess.

She attended and graduated from Bethel High School in 1947.

On June 1, 1950, she married Calvin A. Jacobs of Shawnee. They were married in Plano, Texas and were together for 55 years.

She and her family moved to Roswell, New Mexico in 1956 and returned to Shawnee in 1966. She was employed by the Oklahoma Department of Health as an in-home caregiver. In 1971, she and the family moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico, in 1981, she and Calvin moved back to Bethel Acres. She was employed by Mid-Del Schools for 13 years as a custodian until her retirement in 1999. She then was active in Meals on Wheels and Operation Christmas. She enjoyed her last few years spending time at the Senior Citizens Center.

Survivors include her son, Richard Jacobs of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Patrick Page of Fredericksburg, Virginia; two grandsons, Dwayne Duncan and wife Christina, of Alamogordo, New Mexico and Dustin Duncan, of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren, Taylor and Emily Duncan, of Alamogordo, New Mexico; Jonah Callinan, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Sebastien, Annika and Malachi Duncan, of Columbus, Ohio; her brother, Mustafa Curtess of Rockport, Texas, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin, her parents, sister and brother-in-law, Janetta and Mike Ayers, and sister and brother-in-law, Nina and John Windel.

Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 4, 2011, at Resthaven Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Brakebill officiating the ceremony. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
