Peter Cathey Cottrell

Guthrie resident, Peter Cathey Cottrell, Jr., passed from this life on August 4, 2011. He was born on March 1, 1940 to Peter Cathey Cottrell, Sr. and Marie Rose (Korte) Cottrell in Shawnee, OK. Pete married Sandra Jarnagin on June 30, 1972, and spent 39 wonderful years together. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Stillwater. Pete worked at Tinker Air Force Base for 34 years and retired in 1999.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents and his older sister, Barbara Treat.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Cottrell, of Guthrie; sisters, Maurine Butler of Shawnee, and Rita Maysey of Paso Robles, CA; children, Kelley and Cindy Cottrell of Moore, Kevin and Traci Cottrell of Choctaw, Cathey & Russell Miller of Norman, Carolyn & Ray Seaton of Noble, Sherry & John Gosey of Shawnee, Carla & Michael Freeman of Macomb; brother-in-law, Jerry Jarnagin of Guthrie; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry & Laura Jarnagin of Mustang, OK; his trusted and loving dog, Prissy II; 23 grandkids; 15 great-grandkids; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Crossroads Hospice at 701 S.E. 82nd St. OKC, OK 73149. The family wants to thank everyone at Crossroads for all their help, love, and keeping Pete very comfortable.

Graveside service will be held Monday, August 8, 2011 at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee at 10am, under the care of Resthaven Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday from 1-8pm and Sunday from 1-6pm. For more information please visit www.resthavenfh.com.
