Sue Jan Ducummon Simpson

Sue J. Simpson, Shawnee resident, passed away February 14, 2013 at the age of 64. She was born October 20, 1948 in Tulsa, OK to JC Ducummon Jr. and Nettie (Clements). She grew up in Caney Kansas. She married her elementary school sweetheart, Jack Simpson, and they celebrated nearly 40 years of marriage. They moved to Shawnee, OK in 1978, where she worked at several locations as a secretary and office manager. Sue was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxillery. She loved to take pictures, crosstitch, geneology, and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother and was the #1 fan of her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; Jack Simpson, her father; JC Ducummon Jr., her step-father; Harry Levites, and two grandsons; Jarrett Simpson, and Devon Carter. She is survived by her mother; Nettie Levites, her children; Jack D. Simpson Jr. and Tonya of Shawnee, Julia Carter and Daman, of Shawnee, and Jason Simpson and Rhonda of Shawnee, her twelve grandchildren; Rachel, Courtney, Jessica, Jami, Justin, Taron, Paige, Logan, Jewels, Jaylee, Jadyn, and Jacey, her three great-grandchildren; Rylee, Jagger, and Casen, her siblings; Janet Fry, and John, Margie Silvers, her sister-in-laws; Helen Capps, Margie Artherton, Mary Jo Ketchum, her sidekick; Baby, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Viewing will be 1-8 PM Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Monday February 18, 2013 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Shawnee. Graveside Services will be held 3:00 PM Monday, at Harrisonville Cemetery near Independence, Kansas.
