Edward was born in Columbia, KY on November 4, 1936 to the late Curtis Redmon and Norma Sinclair Redmon. Edward proudly served in the United States Army. He retired from General Electric after 30 years of service.
Edward was a faithful member of Okolona Christian Church where he served as a deacon, and volunteered as the property manager. But his favorite role was that of a husband, daddy, papaw, and great- papaw. His family was his perfect gift from God and he was to them. Edward’s favorite past time was sitting in his EZ chair, surrounded by his family and cheering on his beloved Kentucky Wildcats.
Edward is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Emogene; his sister, Margie; children, Tammy (Jeff) and Melissa (Bruce); grandchildren, Brandon (Rebekah), Alexander, Chelsea (Josh) and Caitlin (Ethan); great- grandchildren, Gabriel, Emily, Mary and Elizabeth and a host of other dear family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Earl.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm (est) on Friday, April 24, 2026 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with Pastor Mark Jones officiating. He will be laid to rest following the funeral at Haven Hill Cemetery (Columbia, KY). Please meet at the cemetery on Friday at 3:30 pm est (2:30 pm cst).
Friends and family may pay their respects on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of his service at 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
He led a life directed by scripture, an unshakable faith and endless love. One of his favorite verses was 2 Timothy 4:7-8 which reads ‘I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord will award to me on that day.”
In lieu of flowers, Edward loved volunteering and supporting “Toys for Tots”. Please feel free to donate to them in memory of Edward Redmon.
