Betty Lou Horton

Mrs. Betty L. Horton, age 88, of Lebanon Junction, returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, October 2, 2016. Betty Lou was born in Kansas City, Missouri on February 2, 1928 to the late Burl and Esther Sherwood. She was a member of Fairdale Baptist Church, a lifetime member of Fairdale Homemakers and she directed Camp Taylor Reunion Organization.

Among those who preceded her in death include, her siblings, Una Bell Reed, Buddy Sherwood and Burl Sherwood Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 70 years, Barney Horton; her children, Sue Carol Uhl (Ronald), Barney Horton Jr. (Linda), Karen Ralph (Terry), Lou Ann Smith (Jerry), Neal Horton, Andrew Horton (Monica) and Lance Horton; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sister, Patt Singleton and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial at Penn Run Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Tuesday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Wednesday from 10:30 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
