Ms. Brenda Kay Wright, age 78, of Mt. Washington, entered eternal life on Thursday, April 9, 2026. Ms. Wright was born April 2, 1948, in Edmonson County, Kentucky. She was a devoted member of Lone Hill United Baptist Church in Louisville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dalton Wilson and Ruby Kinslow Wilson of Edmonson County; brother, Edward Wilson of Bullitt County and brother-in-law, Winston Roberson of Louisville.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Angela Crescente and her husband Danny of Bullitt County; her loving granddaughter, Breanna; sister, Carolyn Roberson of Louisville; brothers, Jimmie Wilson (Sharon) of Louisville, Steve Wilson (Shirlene) of Smiths Grove and David Wilson of Louisville and a host of other dear family and friends.
After graduating high school, Brenda worked as a receptionist for the family doctor for a short time. She then worked as a secretary for the Cabinet for Families and Children, Child Protective Services, for 35 years and then retired.
She was saved as a young girl at the age of 12 at 22nd Street United Baptist Church of Louisville, now known as Campbells Chapel. Her testimony spoke of how her and her sister walked to Sunday School that morning. While the choir was singing the song, “The Old Gospel Ship”, she fell under conviction and went to the altar to pray for the Lord to save her, which he mercifully did. She referred to that as the best day of her life. She joined Pine Grove United Baptist Church on September 24, 1960, and later moved her letter to Lone Hill United Baptist Church.
Brenda enjoyed being in church and spending time with her family and friends. She also loved being Nana to her only granddaughter, Bre.
