Brent was a lover of sports from the beginning. It started with t-ball, pee wee football and basketball, but his focus was on baseball. He also played ball at North Bullitt High School. He was on many traveling teams and they won numerous championships.
He played semi-pro paintball and traveled extensively for this sport.
After he graduated from North Bullitt High School in 2000, his career was in the mental health field.
He was loved by many and didn’t know a stranger. His presence brightened any occasion. He had a passion for reading and a respect for the military. His greatest joy in his life was his daughter, Amari. They would spend hours together, watching the Tar Heels play basketball, they would go to workshops together and he loved watching her practice and play soccer. He was ecstatic when she scored her first goal.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, J.E. Welch and Morton Bottorff and his uncle, Mike Bottorff.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Lisa Welch; father, Stephen E. Welch (Paula); companion, Chedrica Goss; daughter, Amari Welch; brother, Adam Welch; niece, Cayleigh Welch and grandparents, Joyce Harrison (Tommy) and Janet Welch.
