Ms. Carole Diane Mathis, age 79, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Carole was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and a member of New Life Church in Bonita Springs, FL. She remained positive, strong and ran the race well until the very end of her Earthly life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially her family.
Her parents, Hubert Bruner and Margaret Heybach Bruner preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Cyndi Staples (Robert) and Kenny Mathis; grandchildren, Robert M. Staples, Jacob Staples and Ashley Staples; siblings, Ron Bruner (Debbie), Kathy McKee (Richard) and James Bruner and a host of other dear family and friends.
Memorial visitation will be held 11:00 am until 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.)
