

Mr. Clarence Philip Jenkins, age, 80 of Shepherdsville, Ky returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 15, 2024, with his family by his side. Clarence was born on February 13, 1944, to the late Joseph Warren Jenkins and Delores (Fields) Jenkins in Vine Grove Kentucky. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Journeyman Iron worker at Local 70 for over 29 years and a lifetime member of Local 70. Clarence or C.J. as his friends and family called him was a dedicated husband for 58 years, a father and papaw to his loving family. He was truly a hands-on papaw never missing his grandchildren’s sports games, dance recitals, where they were he was. He was known to enjoy playing solitaire, mowing his grass, listening to bluegrass music, and was always willing to lend a hand. Clarence will be truly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Lois Jean Jenkins, his two sons Phil Jenkins (Deanna), Chris Jenkins (Melissa), six grandchildren Whitney Jenkins (Sam), Austin Jenkins, Katie Jenkins, Thomas Stovall, Brooke Jenkins, CJ Stovall, three great-grandchildren Grayson Altman, Rylan Franklin, and Hudson Altman, four sisters Leona Meadows, Martha Thomas, Lelia Williams, and Kathy Morehead (Dale), along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other dear family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy, at John Harper Freeway). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery.
