Mr. Douglas MacArthur Smith, age 79, of Brooks, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Mr. Smith was born on February 9, 1942 in Dickson, Tennessee to the late Arthur who was a member of the “Grand Ole Opry” and Nittie “Baker” Smith. Mr. Smith worked for Relliance for eleven years before starting his own business as a construction contractor. He was in a band called “Doug Smith and the Good Times.” Doug coached sports at Nichols School for over 15 years and was known as the Mayor of Knob Creek. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jamie Baker Smith; and grandson, Jason Smith. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Douglas Smith Jr., Ernest Craig Smith, Anthony Wayne Smith, Dedee Loreen McDonald and William Marshall Smith; grandchildren, Blue Smith, Renee Smith, David Smith, Aaron Smith, Calen Smith, Brenton Thomas Smith, Genell Kinsey, Madoline Smith, Maleah Smith, Jayla McMillin, Salena Smith, Madelyn Stampley, Matthew Stampley, Austin Smith, Marshall Smith, Julian Smith, Daylon Smith, and Jayden Smith; great grandchildren, Lindley Hendrix Smith, Mila Jean Smith, C.J. Kinsey, Hayden Smith, Heidi Smith, and Della McMillin; and a host of other family and friends.
