

Elizabeth “Louise” King, age 80 of Shepherdsville, went to Heaven to be with Jesus on Saturday, December 24, 2022. She was born February 24, 1942 to the late Samuel Mounce and Ruth (Jones) Mounce in Burnside, Kentucky. She grew up in Somerset on her family farm with her sisters till she moved to Louisville in 1966. A small-town girl in a big city.
Louise was the proud owner operator of Kings Hillview Dry Cleaners. Entrepreneur and respected business owner, clerk for the City of Hillview, Kentucky Colonel, and a founding member of Hillview Operation Santa. She was also a member of Little Flock Baptist Church.
Louise’s legacy was how she loved her family and the way her family loved her. All roads lead to home and home was mom. She was a loving, and wonderful Mom, Mamaw, Great Mamaw, and friend. A loving Matriarch to her family that will be truly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her late husbands Albert Leroy King, and Paul Shelton Sr. and her best friend of 50 years Kathy Etherton.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, Jason LaRue (Debbie), Sandra LaRue, Jennifer Whitlow, and Paul Shelton Jr.; grandchildren, Casey Turner (Grant), Eric Carter (Stacey), Samantha Shaner (Nick), Cody Whitlow; great grandchildren, Laila Crenshaw, Blake Shaner, Sydney and Cameron Carter, Wyatt and Isabella Turner: sisters Joann Parrigan (Danny), Linda Brown (Kenneth) and a host of nieces, nephews, dear family, and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, December 30, 2022 at 2 o’clock in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday, December 30, 2022 from 11:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
