Mr. Garrett Scott Waters, Jr., age 86, of Pioneer Village, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 30, 2023. He was born on February 20, 1937 in Oldham County, Kentucky to the late Garrett and Elizabeth Waters. Mr. Waters worked as a grain elevator operator at Ralston Purina for many years until his retirement. He worked as a volunteer firefighter for the Zoneton Fire Department and was a member of Little Flock Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley Ann Waters; and 4 siblings.
Garrett grew up on a farm and loved farming as he got older. He was a family man and enjoyed the title of dad and grandpa. Garrett use to serve as a deacon at Little Flock Baptist Church. He will be missed by his family, friends and church family.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Russell Waters, Peggy Mills; grandchildren, Aaron Waters, Danielle Waters, Lauren Waters, Scott Mills, Ryan Mills; great grandchildren, Aiden Mills, Emma Waters, Isaiah Kihnley; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at 6:30pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brook Rd). Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 12:00pm until the time of service at 6:30pm.
