

Walt was born on April 17, 1959, to the late Henry Walton Snyder, Sr. and Margaret Hill Snyder. Left to cherish his memory are his loving and beloved wife of 28 years, Lillian Campbell Snyder; his daughter, Christina Luckett (Justin); his son, Christian Wolfgang Von Snyder; grandchildren, Finley and Christian Luckett; sisters, Karen O’Connell (Kevin), Marsha Hammer (Jerry) and Pamela Park (Michael); sisters-in-law, Martha Fritz, Pearlie Burgin and Donna Moore (Jack); several nieces and nephews; many beloved fur-babies; and a host of other dear family and friends. Walt retired from YUM! Brands after 27 years of dedicated service to the Global Engineering Team. He developed lifelong friendships. Walt loved music and was a talented bass guitar player who played by ear in numerous bands including KFC’s Recognition Band and Big Fish. He also played in the contemporary band at his church. He had a Black Belt in karate and was an instructor. He was an avid muscle car enthusiast, owning and refurbishing a classic Z28 Camaro, a Cougar, and a Corvette. He was known for his sense of humor, easy laugh, generosity, ingenuity, and concern for others. Walt will be dearly missed.
Funeral service will be held at 6 pm on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) cremation to follow. Friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 12 till the time of the service at the funeral home. The family asks that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
