Jackie Alan Carey

Mr. Jackie Alan Carey, age 61, of Louisville, KY returned to his Heavenly Father on Monday, August 18, 2025. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on July 24, 1964, to the late James B. Carey and Sylvia Carey. Jackie was a hardworking man with an easy smile and a true connection to nature. He made his living in the tree-service industry, operating a business with his brothers - a shared endeavor built on passion, skill, dedication, and brotherhood. Outside of work, he was happiest outdoors. He loved spending time in the woods and on the water; fishing, swimming, pontooning, and spending time with friends and family (pets included). He enjoyed the camaraderie of recreational shooting but often found his deepest calm and solace when listening to old country music and had a remarkable singing voice, all his own. The sound of him singing along to a classic George Jones or Randy Travis tune, is one that will be dearly missed by all of those who love him. Jackie was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Rhonda J. Carey and Buddy Powell.  

Left to cherish his memory are daughters, Brittany Conn (Jonathon), Jenny Marie Pennington, Kayla Ashcraft, and Alan Goode; grandchildren, Sean, Jordan, Brandon, Mason, Nova, and Jackson; siblings, Deborah M. Newton (TW), James “Jim” W. Carey (Holly), Jamie L. Carey, Johnny B. Carey, and Jeffrey L. Carey; along with many other family and friends.

Memorial Service will be conducted on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 6:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road). The visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 12:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Cremation was chosen.  www.subfuneralhome.com
