

James Eddie Stewart, October 9, 1943-July 28, 2022. Eddie to his friends, Brother Eddie to his church, Jim to his business associates, Dad to his son or Papaw to his beloved grandchildren, was born October 9, 1943, to Maggie Musick and Earl Stewart in Sweeden, Ky and went to sleep July 28, 2022, in Prospect, Ky.He lived in Edmonson County until he was 6 years old at which time his family moved to Louisville. He graduated from Butler high school, Spencerian college, JCC and Spaulding University with degrees in Business Management and Accounting. He retired in November 2005 after 40 years from Sud Cheme, now Clariant, (Catalysts & Chemicals, united Catalyst) and in early 2006 took on his most important-and challenging -job as “Papaw Nannie” to his #1 baby Maddie, by the time Noah and Evie came along, he was an old pro.Eddie was saved as an eleven-year-old boy November 14, 1954, at the “Old” Zion united Baptist church. He was baptized December 26, 1954 and joined the church where he remained a faithful member until his death. Eddie loved his church, he was ordained a deacon June 8, 1997. Over the years he also served as church treasurer, trustee, assistant moderator, Sunday school superintendent and Sunday School teacher. He loved the young people he taught, some of whom were second generation, their parents former students.Eddie is survived by his wife of 57 1/2 years, Lynne, their son James(Amanda) , three grandchildren Madelynn(Maddie), James Noah and Evelyn Claire (Evie), two brothers Danny, Rick (Traci), a Brother in law Byron Bradshaw, nephew Michael Bradshaw (Gina), Niece Ami Koralia (Jon) three great nieces Tara and Trista Bradshaw and Mirabella Koralia as well as many friends and relatives.He was preceded in death by his parents Maggie and Earl Stewart and one Sister Sandra Kay Bradshaw,All through his illness, Eddie never changed. He was friendly and didn’t complain-greeting his caregivers and visitors with a smile and a handshake if he was able. The illness devastated his body but not his spirit. Death brought an end to his life here but can’t touch the one that’s waiting for him.
Family and Friends can pay their respects on Monday August 1, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy. at John Harper Hwy. Shepherdsville, Ky). Again, on Tuesday August 2, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Zion United Baptist Church (7436 Ralston Avenue, Louisville, Ky 40258) funeral service will start at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Lone Hill United Baptist Church Cemetery.
