

Dr. Jamie Michelle Phelps, age 29, of Lebanon Junction, Kentucky, was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, January 19, 2026.
Born on Friday, January 3, 1997, in Smyrna, Tennessee, Jamie lived a life marked by love, laughter and selflessness. She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, as well as a cherished member of Believers Church. Jamie lived with purpose, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to learning, leadership and love.
Jamie earned her Doctor of Education degree in P-20 Education and Community Leadership and dedicated her career to improving the lives of students and educators. She served as Academic Innovation Lead at Jefferson County Public Schools and as a board member of Class Act Federal Credit Union. A true goal chaser, Jamie was deeply passionate about education, community impact and lifelong learning.
Beyond her professional achievements, Jamie was known for her vibrant spirit and her constant words of encouragement. She loved to travel, embraced new experiences, and had a rare gift for connecting with others. Jamie lit up every room she entered, effortlessly turned strangers into friends and always found a way to make people smile.
Jamie was preceded in death by her loving mother, Dawn Smith, and her brother-in-law, Seth Porter.
She is survived by her loving husband, Zac Phelps; her father, Michael Smith (Terri); her sister, Jessica Smith; her brother, Cody Smith; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Angela and Virgil Phelps; her sister-in-law, Olivia Phelps and cherished nephew Jack Phelps.
A Celebration of Jamie’s Life will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 7 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, located at 123 Winning Colors Drive in Mt. Washington, Kentucky 40047. Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday from 12 noon until the time of service. Cremation will follow.
Jamie’s Legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness, leadership and radiant heart.
