I miss and love you so much! You truly was my best friend and role model. So lucky to have you for a dad! I hope to follow in your foot steps and be atleast a quarter of the person you was. You had no idea how truly you was loved by so many people. I love you and miss you more then anything! 

Mr. Burke had an innate ability to see potential in you. Perhaps most especially when you didn’t or couldn't see it in yourself. It made him an incredible & invaluable teacher. He reached spots in his students minds that are hard to get to. He knew how to show you a lesson, but not tell you the lesson you should be learning. Wherever he is now is a better place for his being there. We're going to miss you, Mr. Burke.

I worked with Jerry for many years at JTown. He always had a smile on his face and was so patient with everyone around. He loved his job and family. What a loss! His memory will live on in not only his family but also all the students lives that he touched and changed.

Jerry was a man who believed in the union but also in helping the many students and teachers in the high school CTE trades. We ( as teachers of those programs) are indebted to you friend. Prayers for all your family

Thoughts and prayers, such an amazing man going to be missed by so many. He was never hesitant to treat you like family. Always welcoming you with a smile. We love you all. 

The brotherhood has lost a great asset and we have all lost a good friend! Jerry had the perfect demeanor for a leadership role. He always had an open door and would take time to talk with you. We’ll miss you brother Jerry!

I wouldn’t be the Carpenter and Welder, that I am today without your knowledge, insight and dedication to making a better person, more confident.

The Jeffersontown High School Alumni Association is saddened by the loss of Jerry.  He was an outstanding teacher, beloved by everyone--- students, faculty, and staff.  He created a welding department for JHS that remains the most resepected in our area. Countless students have created successful lives due to his influence.  He will be missed.  Rest in peace, Charger

You will be missed by many. Thanks for being a great educator and promoting Career and Technical Education. You guided many students and young adults both in and out of the classroom. Prayers for your family.

Jerry's smile and positive attitude towards everything is what I will miss. I have been away from the family for quite some time, but anytime I hear Jerry's name I immediately think of his smile  and laugh. My heart goes out to Kathy and the kids (and all his family). I love you all.

Jerry was a wonderful member of our family. We loved him even though we were not able to get together as much as we would have wanted. He was so talented, and shared his talents with the world. Fly high Jerry and Rest In Peace 

Through our mutual participation in the IKORCC Apprenticeship Board, I've thoroughly appreciated the right man that Jerry is. His dedication, attentiveness, professionalism and compassion to the people he worked for and with is always present.
On a personal note, I'm very saddened with his passing. I've always enjoyed talking with him about anything from work, to travel, to fishing.
A very smart and perceptive individual with a good soul.
To his family, we've been fortunate for his influence in our life.

My deepest and most sincere condolences are with Kat and the Burke family. Jerry touched so many people in his time with us. He will have a profound and lasting impact on everyone of us. He was truly a teacher and a leader. He taught us all how to be first and foremost compassionate, professional, motivated, to have vision, and to love each other and our work. We at the IKORCC JATF knew that always count on Jerry Burke when we needed his guidance and wisdom. I will be asking myself for the rest of my time, what would Jerry do? How would Jerry approach this? Jerry will always be an inspiration to us all.
