Jerry Johnson

Jerry L. Johnson, age 86 of Louisville returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, March 27, 2025. He was born on July 12, 1938, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Hoy Johnson and Ella (White) Johnson. He was a retired truck driver and diesel mechanic. He enjoyed race car driving. Jerry was a member of the Jefferson County Mounted Sheriff’s Posse.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Hilton; grandson, Rustin Ellis; and sisters, Wanda Blease and Carolyn Trail. 

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Peggy (Homan) Johnson; children, Jerry Johnson (Lisa), Susan Davis (Marvin), and Gelena Ballard (Kirk); grandchildren, Amy Ellis, Nick Ellis, Casey Davis, Matthew Ballard and Kinsey Ballard; great-grandchildren, Destiny Blythe, Macie Smith, Emma Smith, Aiden Mills and Eric Roby; sister, Marsha Kalbfleisch; and brother, Richard Johnson (Joyce) and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
