Ms. Joan Jacobs, age 81, of Okolona, returned to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 8, 2018. She was born on September 3, 1936 to the late Charles and Irma Dotterweich. Ms. Jacobs loved being with her family, she dedicated her whole life to her children and grandchildren. She also loved attending church. She could be described as a loving mother, grandmother, and a friend to many.
Ms. Jacobs was preceeded in death by her brother, Larry Dotterweich and longtime companion, Donald Carter.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children; Timothy Jacobs (Joan), Tamara Gillenwaters, Christine Manning (Mike), Kevin Jacobs (Connie), Sonja Nelson (Terry), and Jay Jacobs; siblings, Karen Buckman, David Dotterweich, Pat Dotterweich, and Gaylord Dotterweich; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
A Funeral service will be conducted at 5pm on Sunday, February 11, 2018, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.). Friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 2-5pm.
