John was born to Linda Johnson and Leon Ford. Though not his biological father, John always said that his dad was Linda’s husband JC Johnson, who stepped in and helped raise him.
John grew up an avid fan of sports, especially basketball and football, and loved to watch the Louisville Cardinals. John wore number 34 on his high school basketball team and was his high school’s player of the year in 1987.
John was preceded in death by his father, Leon Ford and his brother, Rick Ford. John leaves behind a wonderful legacy in his wife Becky, his sons Adam (Sarah) and Noah (Morgan), his grandchildren CJ and Chloe, his mom and dad, Linda and JC Johnson, and countless other family and friends.
John will be remembered for many things, his charm and charisma, his personality and sense of humor, his strong work ethic and devotion; but his biggest impact has been as a husband, a father, a grandfather, a brother, a son, and a friend.
An Army veteran, John, spent four years as a tanker stationed at Fort Knox. He never flaunted his service, but he was proud to have worn the uniform.
John loved spending time with his friends riding his motorcycle, Black Betty. Bam-a-Lam. He chronicled many of his trips and posted several of them on YouTube.
Alongside riding his motorcycle, John also enjoyed racing RC cars, a hobby he shared with his son Noah. John was able to travel to many states racing RC cars and loved tinkering with each machine.
John was truly a one-of-a-kind person, with the kind of personality that drew you in. He was always the life of the party. In so many ways, and by so many people, John will be deeply missed.
