Mr. Marvin J. Underwood, age 93, of Fairdale returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. He was born on December 14, 1930, in Larue County, Kentucky to Ernie Underwood and Amelia (Wear) Underwood. Marvin worked as a forklift operator for Midland Warehouses, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, boarding horses he was an outdoorsman. Marvin was a loving husband to his wife of 60 plus years Grace, a wonderful father to his 3 daughters, and a great papaw to his grandchildren. Marvin will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Grace Underwood, daughters Patricia Duncan (Delbert), Regina Wulf (Larry), Sherry Little (Danny), 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, sister Anna Mae Vanhook, along with a host of nieces, nephews and other dear family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2024, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) with burial to follow at Mt. Holley Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, July 29, 2024, from 12:00pm to 8:00pm and again on Tuesday from 9:00am until the time of service at 10:00a.m.
