Mary Frances Catherine Fischer

Mary Frances Catherine Fischer, age 93 of Shepherdsville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. She was born on June 24, 1931, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late John and Aline (Delph) Mattingly. Mary was a member of St. Aloysius Church in Shepherdsville where she was very active in church events and picnics. She was the owner of Fischer Sporting Goods in Shepherdsville and was a long-time volunteer at Highview Community Ministries. She was honored as a Kentucky Colonel for her community service. Mary was a member of “Ken Bowl Belles” where she enjoyed bowling until she was in her 80s.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur “Bill” Fischer and 6 siblings.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sharon Dills (John); sons, Eric Fischer (Lisa) and Alan Fischer (Djoana); grandchildren, Julie, Carla, Stacie, Laura, Nathan, Leslie, Greg and Janet; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Patrick Mattingly (Josette); friend, Rose Hall and a host of other family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 11 am at St. Aloysius Church in Shepherdsville with interment in Highland Memory Gardens. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 1 pm until 8 pm at Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.).

In lieu of flowers, donations to Highview Community Ministries and Crusade for Children in Mary’s honor are appreciated.
