Paul Allen Matthews, Sr.

Paul Allen Matthews, Sr., age 82, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 28, 2025, with loving family by his side. He was born on September 8, 1943, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late James and Georgia Matthews. Paul was a proud veteran of the United States Army, a member of Little Flock Baptist Church and the owner of Paul’s Fencing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Betty Matthews; son, Paul A. Matthews, Jr.; daughter, Tammy Ann Baker; brother, Jimmy Matthews; sister, Midge Scrogham (Ricky);  8 grandchildren, Jessica Guarnera, Kenneth Baker, Shawn Baker, Kalub Baker, Summer Bersaglia (Zack), Kendra Matthews, Autumn Baker and Meadow Baker; 10 great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 on Sunday, October 5, 2025, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with interment in Resthaven Cemetery on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 3:00. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 11:00 until the time of the service at the funeral home.
