Rick will be remembered for his gentle spirit and the simple joys that brought him happiness- like feeding his birds, a slice of cheesecake and a good plate of meatloaf. He was a devoted viewer of Jimmy Swaggart, faithfully tuning in on Sundays and Wednesdays. A true fan of Elvis Presley, Rick especially cherished his gospel music, which brought him comfort and peace. He had a deep love for the Kentucky Wildcats, always cheering them on. More than anything, Rick was a sweet soul who loved his family deeply, and he was loved just as much in return.
In addition to his parents, his granddaughter, Melanie Travis and his grandparents, Goldie and David Smith preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Julie Diane Grubb; children, Richard Grubb, Jr., Heather McDaniel (Ben) and Hollie Reas (Dan); stepchildren, Teresa Vincent (Stanley), Tiffanie Sims (Ricky) and Danielle White; grandchildren, Kelci Hamm, Jacob Reas, Jaelyn Reas, Jaxon Reas, Skyler McDaniel, Megan Grubb and Vicki Tice; a host of beloved great- grandchildren; 7 step- grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; brother, Chris Bryant; stepsister, Susan Truman; stepbrother, Edward Truman and a host of other dear family and friends.
Family and friends may pay their respects from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm held on Friday, April 24, 2026 at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with a brief prayer service beginning at 4:00 pm and cremation to follow.
