Robert "Bob" Pence

Mr. Robert "Bob" Pence, 82, went home to his Heavenly Father Tuesday, June 20, 2017. He was surrounded by his loving wife and family. Bob was a motorcycle enthusiast and made many friends in the years he and his wife traveled. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to his family. He retired in 1988 as a Supervisor at LG&E. Bob served in the Kentucky National Guard for six years and was a member of Manslick Road Church of Christ. He was a hard worker who always provided for his family and he and Peggy were married for 59 years. He will be remembered for his keen sense of humor and his love for University of Kentucky basketball. Above all, Mr. Pence loved his family dearly, and he will be greatly missed.

Among those who preceded him in death include his parents, Richard and Lula Pence; and his siblings, Mark Pence, Nellie Hart, Arthur Pence and Eddie Pence. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Peggy Stone Pence; children, Jeff Pence (Sheila), Julie Wheeler and Joanie Harris; grandchildren, Allison Thomas (Charlie), Sean Pence (Kindra), Jamie Wheeler, Nick Wheeler (Allison), Erica Cowan (Chris), Emily Sweeney (Brent), Rachel Pence, Haley Wheeler (Vince) and Grant Harris; 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 1 pm Saturday, June 24, 2017 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial in New Hope Church of Christ Cemetery (3585 Spurrier Rd., Big Clifty, KY 42712). Friends may pay their respects on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 1 pm until 8 pm and Saturday from 11 am until the time of the service at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd).
