Roger Neal Gillespie, Sr.

Mr. Roger Neal Gillespie, Sr., age 70, of Fairdale, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 29, 2022. Mr. Gillespie was born in Shelbiana, KY on April 6, 1952 to the late Warren G. Gillespie and Mabel Thacker Gillespie Robinson and he was Baptist by faith.

In addition to his parents, his grandson, Robert Warren Gillespie- Curry and his brothers, John K. Gillespie and Vester Gillespie; sisters, Linda Carol Gillespie and Brenda Gillespie preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of over 50 years, Beverly Hasch Gillespie; children, Roger Neal Gillespie, Jr. (Janie) and Janet “Jan” Cook (Michael); grandchildren, Courtney Milam, Roger Gillespie, III, Samantha Gillespie, Michael Gillespie and Kyla Mae Shelley; 6 great grandchildren and one on the way; siblings, Mary Newsome, Teresa Rich (Jack) and Joyce Coleman (Frank) and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, June 3, 2022 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow. Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday from 12:00 pm until the time of service at 6pm at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hosparus, the American Diabetes Association or to Norton Women’s and Children’s Hospital Research in honor of his grandson, Robert.
