Ronald C. Smith

Ronald Carlisle Smith, born in Louisville, Kentucky on May 28, 1947, passed away on August 7, 2024. He was a devoted member of Christ Family at First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington. From the time he was saved in 1974, he has been an active member and Sunday School teacher in several Baptist Churches. Ron was a retiree of Ford Motor Company where he served 33 years. He graduated from Valley High School in 1965 and remained an active Alumni. 

Among those that preceded him in death are his parents, Carlisle and Mary (Putthoff) Smith. 

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Suzette (Faust) Smith; sisters, Ruby Bauer and Cindy Lee; children and their spouses, Mike & Tara Smith, Jenny & Marty Byrd, Beth & Rick Greathouse, Amy & Kevin Boissinot, Adam & Sarah Smith, Daniel Smith, and David & Becky Smith; grandchildren, Isaiah, Caleb, Ethan, Ian, Kate, Abby, Ally, Luke, Lily and Harper; one great-grandchild, Stetson. 

Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, August 12, 2024, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home-Mt. Washington (Hwy. 44 East at 123 Winning Colors Drive) with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Louisville, KY. Friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm and on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home. 

Ron is now resting and whole in the Lord’s house in Heaven and we will rejoice when we see him again.
