Ronnie Lucas

   Mr. Ronnie Lucas, age 76, returned to his Heavenly Father on September 30, 2019.   Mr. Lucas was born in Louisville, KY on January 23, 1943 to the late William B.  and Nora Marie Lucas. He retired from the Ford Motor Company and was a retired Police Officer who devoted his career to serving and protecting several communities to include Shepherdsville, Pioneer Village, Hillview and Heritage Creek. He was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of the Police (FOP) and the National Rifle Association (NRA). Mr. Lucas was an avid classic car buff. He spent many hours restoring cars and won many awards. One of his favorites was a red 1954 Ford convertible named Lucille.  Mr. Lucas had many friends including his fur-friends Chloe Rose and Maggie Mae. They loved taking rides together. Most of all he loved his wife and family dearly.  Mr. Lucas was gruff and hard on the outside, but he was soft on the inside. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know him. 

    He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Doris Jane Lucas; and 2 brothers-in-law, David Meredith Sr. and James Grider. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 55 years, Beverly Lucas; children, Cathy Parker (Jim) and Daniel Lucas (Tonya); grandchildren, Shelby Scheid (Daniel), Molly Lucas, Alex Lucas, Drew Hobbs, Mitchell Hobbs, Dawson Hobbs, and Carter Hobbs; siblings, Connie Allen (Mike); Dolores Meredith, Betty Grider and David Lucas (Sharon); numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other dear family and friends.

   Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, October 4, 2019 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow. Friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
