Sargent Major Leo James Lainey

Sergeant Major Leo James Lainey, age 91, of Shepherdsville, Ky passed away peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born in Presque, Maine on July 27, 1933, to the late Althie William Lainey and Alice Dubois Lainey. He was a former member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Leo was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army retiring after 32 years of service to his country. He enjoyed the outdoors; he walked several miles every day hence he was called the “Walker Man”. He loved spending time with his family and sitting on his front porch. Leo will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and late wife the love of his life Clara Marie Lainey and 8 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his son Gary Reed (Elizabeth), daughter Jane Mills, and 11 grandchildren. Along with a host of other dear family and friends. Cremation was Chosen.
