Sharon Darlene King

   Sharon Darlene King, age 66, of Brooks, Kentucky, returned to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, February 24, 2024. She was born on February 8, 1958, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Marvin Powers and Neoma Grey. Sharon was a member of Mt. Elmira Baptist Church and retired from UPS after 30 years of faithful service. She loved the beach and loved water, enjoying water skiing and other beach activities. She was an avid UK fan but her true passion was her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sheila Froman.

   She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 49 years, Brad King; sons, Shane King (Barbie), Jason King (Emily), and Travis King (Savannah); grandchildren, Kyle, Kody, Kory, Phaelen, Andrew, Ella, Bailey, Mia, and Lilly; great-grandchildren, Thistley, Nathan, Islay, and Josie; bonus sons, Darrin Wales, Tommy Stacey and Josh Lister; sisters, Sandra Chancey and Mildred Smith; sister-in-law, Anna Francis King, and a host of aunts, uncles, family and friends.

   Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 10 am in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with interment in Parr Frans Cemetery in Battletown, Kentucky.  Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 1 pm until 8 pm and on Monday, March 4, 2024, from 9 am until time of service at the funeral home.
