Shirley Marlow Mitchell

Shirley Kay (Marlow) Mitchell, age 71, of Louisville returned to her Heavenly Father on Friday, October 2, 2020.  She was born on August 14, 1949 in Louisville to the late Mae and James Marlow, Sr,. Shirley was a graduate of the 1967 class of Fairdale High School and worked as a stewardess for Eastern Airlines, and also employed by Liberty Bank, Humana and Churchill Downs. Among those that preceded her in death are her parents; daughter, Carey Mitchell; and grandson, Jeffrey Landers.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Shane Mitchell; grandchildren, Dakota, Mariah, E.J. and Madison; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Charlotte (Butch) Hicks, Sandra Capito and Yvonne (Tom) Felmley; brother, James Marlow, Jr. (Peggy); and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, October 10, 2020 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) Friends and family may pay their respects on Saturday from 1:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home. 

Due to COVID there is no food or drinks allowed and masks are mandatory.
