Shirley Ramsey, age 81, of Louisville returned to her Heavenly Father on November 25, 2024. Shirley was born on January 18, 1943, in Louisville, KY to Malcolm and Mabel Houchens. She worked at Enro Shirt Co. and later in sales for Walmart. Those that preceded her in death are her husband, Billie Ramsey, parents and several brothers and sisters. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Sharon Peyton (Mark), Rhonda Mitchell and Edward Ramsey; sisters, Janet Southard (Henry) and Judy Andies (Teddy); five grandchildren, Melanie Thurman (Ryan), Chris Peyton, Zackery Mitchell (Rebekah), Taylor Ramsey and Parker Ramsey; great grandchildren, Emma Gaddis, Allie Thurman, Sadie Thurman and Asher Thurman; and a host of friends. A funeral service will be conducted at 6 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2024, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with cremation to follow. Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday from 12 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
