

Tracy Kindred Hord, Jr., age 85 of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday, April 10, 2026, with loving family by his side. He was born on January 13, 1941, in Greensboro, North Carolina to the late Tracy and Vola (Cowen) Hord, Sr. He was a former member of Beth Haven Baptist Church and a current member of Harvest Baptist Church. Tracy was a proud veteran of the Army National Guard, serving over 30 years and retiring at the rank of Colonel. He was a schoolteacher in his earlier years, teaching in Lebanon Kentucky and a substitute teacher for Bullitt Central High School and Beth Haven Christian School. He served for over 20 years as an officer for Jefferson County Police Department and was proud to serve on the CACA unit (Crimes Against Children Unit). Tracy was an avid golfer and a fan of University of Louisville Basketball. He never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went. Tracy was a kind and loving man who was a gentleman. Spending time with his family and making memories are what he held most dear to his heart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, James W. Corley, III; a sister, and his fur-babies, Tiki and Bebe.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 35 years, Barbara (Maultsby) Hord; children, Tina Bleakmore (Mark), Chad Hord, James Corley, Jr. (Pam), Richard Corley (Alice) and William Corley (Shawna); grandchildren, Jennifer Stamper (John), Jacob Corley (Ashley), Mariah Corley, Jeremiah Corley (Karen), Michael Corley, William Corley, Jr., Dillon Bleakmore, Isaac Corley, Keith Mahoney and Stephanie Mahoney (Nick); great-grandchildren, Liam Stamper, Jayda Corley, Noah Corley, Owen Corley, Oaklee Corley, Maverick Corley, Braedon King, Braelon King and Addison King; sister-in-law, Rose Townsend; nieces, Kym and Christine; fur-babies, Minnie and Daisy May; special friends, James and Stella Corley, Sr., Joe and Michelle Mulloy, Sandy Thomas, Gary Howard and Peggy Lester, Bob Welch, Desmond Dixon, Gary Epperson, Betty Ann McCellon and her sons George and Paul and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home
