Valerie Ruth Lyons, age 71, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to her Heavenly Father on March 23, 2023. She was a member of Christian Assembly Church. Valerie was born in Louisville, Kentucky on February 14, 1952, to the late Nathaniel Thomas and Louise Morris Thomas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Lyons, Sr.; parents; four sisters, Doris Mae Thomas, Loretta Shell, Virginia Simon and Lois Weatherholt ; three brothers, George, Larry and Jerry Thomas. Valerie leaves to cherish her memory her children, daughters, Heather Dennison (Todd) and Holly Wooten (Shawn, Sr.); son, Stephen Lyons, Jr.; sister, Marydora Conley (David); niece and best friend, Rachel Keith (Jimmy); six grandchildren, Shawn, Jr., Shane, Stephen, Kinsey, Kassidy and Joshua; and a host of other family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, April 1, 2023, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial in Beth Haven Cemetery. Friends and Family may pay their respects on Friday from 11 am until 8 pm and on Saturday from 10 am until time of service at the funeral home. Expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers may be made to the church.
