William "Bill" Carl Lewis, Jr.

William Carl “Bill” Lewis, Jr., age 86, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Monday, March 24, 2025. He was born on July 15, 1938, in Taylor County, Kentucky to the late Carl and Elymus (Ford) Lewis. Bill was a 1958 graduate of Campbellsville High School, a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of Eastern Gate Baptist Church. He retired from General Electric after 32 years of faithful service and also retired from the Bullitt County Detention Center. He was a member of Bullitt County Memorial VFW Post 5710 in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. Bill was a positive person who loved to laugh and make others laugh. He loved his coffee and sweets, loved to watch college and high school basketball and was an avid University of Kentucky fan. Bill loved his family; spending time with them was what he held dearest to his heart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Lewis and his sister, Becky Patterson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Vickie Coy (Alan); brother, Wendell Lewis (Goldie) and a host of aunts, uncles, family and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 2:00 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 1:00 until 8:00 and on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 9:00 until the time of service at the funeral home.
