June Elizabeth, as she liked to refer to herself, finally succumbed to Multiple Sclerosis at almost 88 years of age. A feisty, independent woman who lived her life with tenacity, spirit and humor inspired so many.
She was born the only daughter of Robert and Anne (Wilson) Rowe, in Aberdeen, Washington. She and her two brothers Robert and Norman (both deceased) roamed free in the woods, town and surrounding area.
June graduated from the Annie Wright School and attended both the University of Oregon and the University of Washington, receiving a Bachelor's degree at UW.
She worked in many positions in Seattle, including the Boeing Company before pursuing an MBA at University of Puget Sound. June taught high school business classes at several Seattle high schools and retired, after many years, from Roosevelt High School.
June was predeceased by her husband Don Milette, watercolorist, and her two beloved children, Edward Conrad Barron (age 8) and Gina Ann Barron (age 49). She leaves behind her step-son Ron Milette & his two sons Ryan & Justin & nieces Eve Girard & Gloria Rowe.
She collected a lively group of close friends and was enfolded into the family and the friendship circle of her longtime neighbor, Sharon Doyle. Their loving friend-ship endured until her death.
June traveled the world in her retirement and enjoyed every adventure. Her enthusiasm set many others on the path to traveling as well. She was a lover of the arts, a subscriber to the Seattle Opera, the Pacific Northwest Ballet and many local theaters over the years. A martini and an outing to see one of the above was an evening very well spent.
