

Betty Jane Landress Britt was born on a red dirt road in Gwinnett County, Georgia on June 27, 1935. She was the first child of J. W. Landress and Eddie Bell Broadnax Landress. She was soon followed by three beloved brothers. Seven years after Betty was born, Eddie Bell would take her own life ,leaving behind Betty and her three young brothers. The siblings developed a strong bond that comforted them and would endure for life. Her father remarried and had two more daughters and a son, Betty loved them all. They were a close family.
Betty attended Berry College before marrying Greg Britt in 1956. They raised four daughters together . Their love endured until cancer took him in 2016. His career in the USAF took them around the world and all over the United States.
Betty leaves behind four daughters that she dearly loved. Words cannot express the love she had for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She made sure they all knew how much she loved them. And they all loved her just as dearly in return.
Betty had the curiosity of a child that would last her entire life. She was always looking for ways to do something better. She was an avid gardener. Perhaps the thing she was most known for was her love of sewing, especially quilting. Many loved ones and friends have been the recipients of her quilts and count them among their most prized possessions.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, Greg Britt, her brothers Clifford, William and Doug Landress, sister in law Joyce Landress, and nephew Roger Landress. She was predeceased by her parents J.W. Landress, Eddie Bell Landress and Lorene Landress. Betty also leaves behind four daughters, Debbie Britt, Kathy and Jeff Landress, Linda and Tom Tatum, and Lisa Ford. Grandchildren Candice Moon, Lindsey and Ben Thorpe, Aimee and Teyo Lopez. Melissa and David Wood, J. R. and Monica Landress and Ben and Tyne Landress. Brittany and Frank Marzullo, Sandi and Tim Suda, and Rachel and Jeremy Walker. Logan, Ryan and Austin Ford. Great grandchildren Abi and Emily Yarbrough, Isaac and Noah Thorpe, Isabella and Teyo Lopez, Wyatt Wood, Tessa, Tristan and Julia Rose Landress, Finn and Fischer Landress, Aiden Marzullo and August Walker. Betty also leaves behind her siblings, Faye and Kenneth Prather, Frances and Robert Caskey and JW and Debbie Landress.

The family will greet friends and relatives for visitation on June 11, 2025 from 12pm-2pm. A celebration of life service will follow the visitation at 2pm in the Chapel of Eternal Hills. Betty will be laid to rest at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens following the service.
