Carole Ann Wright, 88, of Snellville, Georgia passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 12, 2025. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her husband Joseph Lloyd Wright; Children Joanna (John) Wille, David (Alex) Wright; grandchildren William, Adam, and Colin. Carole was born March 18, 1936 in Milledgeville, Georgia to Beulah and John Davis Carr. She attended Georgia State College for Women (GSCW) in Milledgeville, earning a bachelor's degree in education. She went on to teach 2nd grade at Allgood Elementary, as well as a para-professional for special reading. Her favorite role in life was her last which was “retired grandma.” Carole married Joe on December 23, 1961, in Milledgeville, Georgia before moving to the Atlanta area. Their love story began by meeting at First Baptist Church of Decatur where Joe would say it was love at first sight. Their 63-year marriage was marked by deep devotion and partnership. Carole enjoyed bird watching, gardening, Sunday school, reading and spending time her family. The extended Wright family wishes to thank everyone for their kind words, thoughts and prayers. A celebration of Carole’s life will be held on January 24, 2025, at Eternal Hills 3594 Stone Mountain Highway, Snellville GA 30039 at 11:00 a.m. Her service and burial will be followed by a reception.
