Charles Roy "Chuck" McCance was born on December 6, 1932 in Northfork, California and passed away on February 19, 2025 at 92. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Jeanette McCance, parents Roy and Maude McCance, sisters Pat Russell and Sophronia Petersen, brother Bill Ramsden, and granddaughter Andrea McCance.
Chuck proudly served as a Navy Corpsman during the Korean War. He had a long and distinguished career with the U. S. Public Health Service and retired from the Centers for Disease Control as the Director of Quarantine.
We will remember our "Pops" as a witty soul who always had a joke to share. He was able to build or repair almost anything and enjoyed gardening, music, and traveling the world. His family meant everything to him.
Chuck is survived by his four sons, Tad (Martha), Dan (Denise), Pat (Machele), and Kelly (Jan); 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
A private graveside service for immediate family will be held on February 23, 2025.
