George Otto Schmid, 93, of Snellville, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2016, at his home. George was born on August 28, 1922 in Queens, NY to Eugene and Minnie Schmid. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and later worked for many years for New York Telephone Co. George is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Alice Schmid, and son Walter Edward Schmid. Survivors include his son George E. Schmid and wife Pat of Snellville, granddaughter Amber White and husband Ron, grandson Derek Schmid and great grandchildren Dean and Evan. Visitation will be from 1-2pm on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at Eternal Hills Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2:00pm on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens.
