She is preceded in death by her parents William and Genella Miller and Walter Tracy.
Janet is survived by her husband Dale Woods; her daughters, Linda (Ricky) Swift of Murray, Kentucky, Lisa (Barry) Porter of Windermere, Florida, step-children Jeff (Diana) Woods of Orange City, Florida, Renee Lanoue of Clinton, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Jessica Swift, Courtney (Emmett) Browning, Whitney Porter; step grand-children Gabby Hunt (Brian) of Loganville, Georgia, and Joseph (Amanda) Lanoue of Loganville, Georgia; her nine step-great-grandchildren; and her former husband, Alexander “Al” Cichocki.
In 1958, Al and Janet moved from Detroit, Michigan to San Diego, California, which was cut short when he was drafted into the United States Air Force in 1960. In 1962 they moved to the Patrick Air Force Base in Brevard County, Florida. Shortly after, in 1968 Al and Janet divorced and she started her career in the banking business in the payroll department at SunTrust Bank, moving into the head teller position and retiring from SouthTrust Bank in late 1999. Sometime after 1968 Dale was brought into Jan and her daughters’ life. Over the years Jan and Dale stayed in touch but moved on into their lives only to be reunited with one another in 2000 and married March 30, 2002.
Jan will be remembered for always smiling, being happy, loving Jesus, always being so sweet and most of all, being kind to everyone. She was hard working to always provide for her daughters, always putting them first above her own needs. She was also always there for her family and friends when they needed her and willing to help anyone in need and to give a kind word.
