Patricia Ahnawake Bowen, age 92, passed peacefully in her home February 12, 2025. “Wake”, "Pat", or "Mimi", as she is lovingly called by family and close friends, was born November 8, 1932 in Blairsville, Georgia. She is the 5th child of eleven siblings born to the late Mary Lee Jordan Mason and Charles Washington Mason.
The hard work ethic learned on the family farm and family values saw her and her siblings through the cruel depression. As an older sister, she was "charged" (as all of the older siblings were) with helping to care for younger brothers and sisters, which she did with earnestness and integrity. She would exhibit this quality throughout all of her life. She simply loved her family; her actions matched her words.
She later moved to Atlanta for work and met and married the love of her life, the late Charles F. Bowen, in 1955. Their marriage was 40 years long, but lasted the rest of her life. Together, they made their lives in Tucker, GA, raising three beautiful and successful children, Ron, Tim, and Tara.
In addition to raising her family and helping in the historic Kawasaki motorcycle dealership, she and her husband built, she was very active in her church home, Gospel Harvester Chapel. A life-long devout woman of God, she served God, her family and the church faithfully. She could be found in the third row, front and center, every Sunday. She lived to love the Lord and all that He put in her charge. Mimi loved to fish (her hushpuppies are legendary) and was fantastic at both fishing for fish and being a "fisher of men".
She adored her vegetable gardens, flower beds and fruit trees; spending her time tending to each with great thoughtfulness. She loved things that grew…plants and people, alike. If love bears fruit, she has planted an orchard in this life that will last generations.
Her legacy will remain that she pointed the way to Jesus through action, love and faith. She would spread the message that Jesus loves you. She would tell you that every good thing in her life was by the Glory to God.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: Husband, Charles F. Bowen; Son, Michael A. Bowen; Sisters, Nina Owenby and Leah Stebbins; Brothers, Everett, George, Robert, and Jeff Mason.
Patricia leaves to cherish her memory: Her children, Ron (Shirley), Tim (Cheryl), and Tara (Chris Chester); Grandchildren, Christy, Connor, Cori, Joy, Gabe, Andrew, Cassidy, and Tatum; Great grandchildren, Vivien, Rhett, Saylor, River, McKinley, Easton, Emmett, Everett, and Aria; and brothers and sisters, Frankie Swanson, Austell Woody, Ronald P. Mason and Charles Jordan "Judd" Mason.

A funeral service will occur Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 12:00 noon.
