

Ray was born on June 26, 1934 in Miami, FL to James Haygood Nunn and Clarice (Adams) Nunn. Ray married Melissa Chase and they settled in Atlanta, GA where they were blessed with sons Ray, David and Edward and daughter Holly.
Ray loved his country, loyally serving in the United States Army during the Korean War. He later attended Georgia Tech where he graduated with an Electrical Engineering degree, and had a long, successful career with Western Electric and AT&T, where he worked in the U.S. as well as internationally. After retiring, Ray enjoyed spending time in his woodworking shop creating masterpieces for family, friends and neighbors. But Rays greatest joy in life was family.
Ray was predeceased by his parents James and Clarice Nunn, siblings Celina, James “JH”, Tommy, Roland, Juanita and Franklin. He is survived by his brother Marshall Nunn and his wife Donna, and his sister Eva Lou (Nunn) Godard and her husband Jeff. Ray is also survived by his children Ray Luke Nunn Jr. and his wife Kathy, of Yardley, PA; David Michael Nunn and his wife Bonnie of Manchester, VT; Edward Eugene Nunn and his husband Wilson Quevedo, of Brookhaven, GA; daughter Holly Ann (Nunn) Monahan and her husband Edward, of Charleston, SC. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, Mary (Nunn) Zervos and her husband Alex, of Newtown, PA; Ryan Nunn, of Santa Monica, CA; Laura (Nunn) Hertzfeld and her husband Zack, of Loveland OH; Christy (Nunn) Warner and her husband Paul of Reston, VA; Christopher Nunn of Boulder, CO; Nicholas Nunn and his partner, Caroline Donovan of Lebanon, NH; Chelsea Nunn of Salt Lake City, UT; Edward Monahan IV of Charleston, SC; Sean Monahan of Charleston, SC. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on January 29th at 1:00PM at Eternal Hills Funeral Home and Memory Gardens 3594 Stone Mountain Hwy, Snellville, GA 30039
