Arthur was born on December 5, 1935 to Richard and Berta Mae Long in Walton County, Georgia. A graduate of Grayson High School class of 1954, Arthur became a Medic in the United States Army. He later worked for and retired from Man Roland Printing Company.
Arthur had a servant’s heart. He was a member of Loganville United Methodist church for 49 years, using his talents in the choir and on several church committees and groups. He was a faithful volunteer; as a Boy Scout Leader, for the Shepherd’s Staff Ministry and for other local and world missions. He was an avid woodworker; he enjoyed camping, traveling, but most importantly spending quality time with his family and friends.
Arthur leaves behind his wife, Duane Long; brother Larry H. Long (Beverly); two sons: Richard A. Long, Jr. (Cindy) and Mark A. Long (Michele); four grandchildren: Cody Long (Lori), Christian Long (Caitlin), Mackenzie Long and Meredith Long; three great-grandchildren: Carter, Mason, and Charlotte Long; and numerous relatives and dear friends.
